The 5th Tweetup : Seoul Space Fever

I've announced the 5th tweetup just 2 days before the date, so I thought it'll be a smallest tweetup we've ever had.

But turns out, it became the best party ever.(in party-wise) in courtesy of Richard Min, Who has set almost whole things up.

We had an amazing DJ, a basketball lucky draw, (a signed ball from David Lee, NBA's Korea country manager) and nice food. Richard has a great network, so that he could call all those people (20 people attended) in 2 day. He says he could fill the place if we announced it 2 weeks ago. :)

And we also had best girls/attendees ratio. ;) A special thing was there were only Koreans or half-Koreans this time. I wish others in TwitterSeoul community could attend. I promise that I'll announce earlier next time!

Here are a few photos and video of that day. Please add ones if you have.

We are opening the Twitter Seoul holiday party!

After the last tweetup on October, I arranged the next one now before Chistmas.

Here's the official post for the tweetup!

It'll a holiday party this time! :) By great courtesy of Richard (@richardmin), We could arrange a nice place we can talk, eat, drink, and even play bowling too!

I'm so excited about this party. Please join us and let's have fun together!

Soompi tweetup

I found a tweet on Twitter about a week ago which attracted me a lot. It was the one says @ejang is setting up a tweetup with @joycekim, who is the founder of Soompi.com, a Korean entertainment online community.

I've been known Joyce on Twitter for a while, and I thought it was very nice chance for me to meet one more nice person in person.

Joyce Kim was much more fun and cooler than I thought. We met on the elevator going up to the meeting place and had a short talk, and I even felt that she's my sister or something. Although she was very famous person to all of us at the meet-up, she was very humble and friendly.

And the people who joined there were all very passionate and they've got many thing to learn. I earned many thing on that day.

Here's the pictures of people who attended.

I want this group to last for a long time, and hope we could help each other in a good way.

The 3rd tweetup was also successful

I know, it's way to late to post about the 3rd tweetup after a month, but I thought I should do. I want to let people keep track of the tweetup Seoul event, and I want to do so too when I see them later.

Sorry about the delay. I've been crazy working. (still I am.)

We had the tweetup at Gangnam and there were 9 people attended. We had a lot of fun, shared many things, and tried to know each other further.

And very encouragingly, there were 2 new girls in the group. As a result, our talking subjects changed a little bit, ;) but we had much more fun.

2 new guys also joined. @patrickinkorea is @duckbokey 's friend, and @tfunk2002 came very dramatically. They're all so kind and nice people.

As the tweetup goes on, I think we better make this group more productive and helpful to each other. Having fun is very important too, but we know we can do more, and some of us are trying to make it happen.

For example, @duckbokey and I are thinking to work on a music project, and others also talked about starting a business, and a way to help each other.

However, our group is always open. If you want to join, please let me know. :)

The second Tweetup Seoul

On 26th September, we opened the 2nd Tweeup Seoul as I announced, at Miasamgori.

It doesn't mean it's actually the 2nd official tweetups held in Seoul, but let's just call our meet ups as "Tweetup Seoul".

4 people gathered that night. It was not many as I expected, But we four had great time talking each other. We all have met in person for the first time, and I felt that we can't say we know someone until we met him and talk in person. They were all kind and great people.

From the left, @taewony, @vlcupper, @gsjung123. They all came long way to come to the place. Thank you all for making fun time!

I think Miasamgori was too north to everyone to come. Next time the place should be more near to the core of Seoul I guess.

I'm already looking forward the next tweetup! Hope to see you all there!

A Twitter Party in Seoul

I told you, there are many Twitter real-life meet ups this month in Seoul, and here is the another one.

A Twitter party was held at Hongdae V-hall on 10th September, Organized by @hur (Hur Jin Ho), the CEO of Neowiz Internet. Mr. Hur is also one of the most famous and active Twitter users in Korea.

This Twitter party was the biggest tweetup in Korea so far. 200 to 250 people have gathered in the place. I met so many great and influential people there. And it was pretty fun to find people I know on Twitter as their profile pictures!

Many Tweeples volunteered to organize the party together, so it could be very successful. For me it was very great experience because I made a speech as a "1 minute speech" speaker. It was embarrassing and fun at the same time.

There was band performances also at the end of the party. and they gave a mug cup as a souvenir.

After the party, @richardmin , @mirwing and I grabbed beers together and talked a lot. It is always the best part to make friends and hang out with them.

I give appreciations to all the volunteers for the party, and hope to see all the people at the next Twitter party!

Great time at Twitter / SNS forum

These days there were many Twitter real-life meet ups in Korea. The number of Twitter users in Korea is increasing fast and they are very eager to get together in person apparently.

Last Saturday (9/5) There was also a Twitter & SNS forum at Hangyang university. I've attended there too. (as you can guess) This forum has been organized by a few people on Twitter including the famous news anchor Kim Ju Ha.

In the forum a number of speakers had made their speech. Most of them were pretty helpful. What I was specially impressed was that a pastor joined the forum as a audience and he made a small speech about current situation of the Korean IT and broadcasting field. I think it's very nice phenomenon that religious ministers are being interested in new technologies and social networks.

The most exciting part of the forum this time was the unofficial afterward party. I stayed at the place and talked with another people after the forum, so that I could join the small party at a pork meat restaurant. And I had so unique opportunity that I could talk to Kim Ju Ha anchor face to face at the table! :)

I also met so many great people in the forum. I realized again that the most important thing is always people. Hopely they will be my power in the future.

The very first tweetup in Korea

Last Monday, Finally the tweetup I announced has been held and it was very successful. Probably it was the first tweetup in Korea. I know there were many Twitter moim(means meet-up in Korean)s have been held, but I think this was the first with the actual name "tweetup". (I know it's a silly theory but let's just say so!)

Here's the full attendees list.

@chosunbimbo and @WonSuk unfortunately couldn't attend.

We were all guys and that was great as it is. We talked about iPhone, Black Berry, Korea, movies, career, and many more things. David and Richard gratefully served as great MCs so we could get introduced about everyone each other well.

People who should go far way home leaved first and 6~7 people lasted near midnight. Joe (@duckbokey) and Lance (@Peacecheese) was the final members. :)

It was more successful than I expected and all the people gathered were really nice persons. We all agreed there should be next tweetups on and on. This party is open to everyone so anyone can join on next tweetup!

Special thanks to David (@davidyhlee) for suggesting the tweetup.

Let's have happy Twitter life continuously!
